Skinny Lister are proud to announce the 5th November, 2012 release of the Forty Pound Wedding EP on Sunday Best Recordings.
Forty Pound Wedding was written by Lorna and Max’s dad George Thomas aka ‘Party George’ and is a rip-roaring folk stomper that is a sure-fire fans favourite! The EP also includes the waltzing Seventeen Summers, a song about moving from a northern seaside town to the dirty delights of London. In addition to these two gems, the EP also features a remix of Colours by Psychemagik and the previously unavailable Sunday Best remix of Plough & Orion.
Its been a whirlwind year for the good ship Skinny, with the band living up to their ‘hardest working act’ accolade, celebrating the release of their debut album Forge & Flagon by playing more gigs in more countries than ever before.
In the UK, Skinny Lister made their mainstage debut at this year’s Bestival, rocking the crowd ahead of New Order and Stevie Wonder. Along with the band’s troupe of dancing girls the Skinny Sisters, Skinny Lister brought that late summer cheer to the 30,000 strong crowd of music fans.
In America, the band played to more than 1 Million people on this summer’s Vans Warped Tour, travelling 20,000 miles in 50 days winning fans in every state. In Canada the band played to sell out crowds in Toronto, Montreal and Quebec, whilst in Germany the band landed at the influential Haldern Pop Festival and rocked a whole new crowd of smiling faces, making such an impact they were immediately booked to play the mainstage at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg!
