As JW Francis embarks on the Appalachian Trail, a 3,500km hike across 14 US states, he leaves us a parting gift in the form of new single ‘I Love You’.
Irresistibly catchy and packed with a blissed-out synth melody, ‘I Love You’ follows the effortlessly cool single ‘Maybe’ released in March. Recorded in Hackney Road Studios, the single is dedicated to JW’s best friend Joe Fusco:
“I wrote this song for my best friend Joe Fusco. We had lived together for 2 glorious years and then we decided to split ways for practical life reasons vowing to return to living together when it felt right. This was just me reminding him I loved him no matter what.”
The new single is also accompanied by a highly surreal, yet heart-warming video directed by fellow New Yorker Sara Laufer, in which JW describes as “a time capsule of my time in New York filmed with my roommates…It was an act of love”.
With his sights sets on the Appalachian Trail, JW relishes the idea of promoting his music and keeping fans updated en-route with regular acoustic sessions and live Q+A’s. This new adventure follows 2020’s ‘We Share a Similar Joy, which was named as BBC 6 Music’s Album of The Day, as well as lead single ‘New York’ being placed on their A-List for over month.
