Keeping it krunk, like only they can, the band has lined up ‘Open’, a standout moment from the album, for release on June 18th. Jacked up jeep beats, stabbing horns and an irrepressible disco strut keep TK’s slick, sweet rhymes on the straight and narrow, as the band unleash one of the catchiest choruses ever committed to tape.
The remix tip sees Sunday Best pull out all the stops, with a bountiful bunch of dance-floor destroyers. Deep House don and remixer par excellence, Trevor Loveys brings the noise with his ‘Open All Hours Rejig’, a heads down, cut up squelcher that takes ‘Open’ firmly into late night territory. The pinball riffing of producer du jour Dan Le Sac’s RFC1 remix takes the track on some arcade-electro manoeuvres before Philadelphia’s finest Plastic Little add their own inimitable genre hip-hopping party-punk vibes to proceedings.
The Dub Pistols demonstrate their own club killing abilities on their Retox mix, reshaping ‘Open’ into a deeply dirty Breaks belter, ensuring the home crowd is well catered for, whilst King Kooba’s Koobatronmix is a deliriously jazz infused roller that completes a stunning set.
