You and Me Bobby Sox is the dark and brooding but really rather brilliant new single from Christopher D Ashley. A tale of self doubt and wasted potential, it’s the third single to be taken from the critically acclaimed debut album Cruel Romantics. Backed with remixes by Keith ‘Radioactive Man’ Tenniswood and a new vocal version of Governed By Patience, it’s available to download now…
Keith Tenniswood, also one half of Two Lone Swordsmen with Andrew Weatherall, is one of Christopher’s favourite producers. The pair met when Keith was handed a demo of Christopher’s music and was so impressed that he got in touch to say that he was keen to work with him. And when Christopher transferred his sound to a full live band set up, Keith stepped straight in on guitar, to join Lisa Kristiina on bass and Luke Ollivere on laptop beats and blips. Keith has since introduced Christopher to many of his friends from the electronic music scene and frequently provides him with a fresh dose of electro records they both hold a passion for.
The video for You & Me Bobby Sox was directed and produced by ZFK (Rory Wilmer and Aidan Hughes) and set in and around Prague’s infamous ‘Suicide Bridge’. Check it out here – http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xq-wKqmRzG8
